Berry Pie

 Ingredients

  • 1 package of frozen pie crust dough from TJ’s (comes with 2 rolls) - thawed but still cold

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • ¼ cup flour

  • 4-5 cups of berries - whatever ones you want!  I like raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. Enough to fill the pie.

  • 1 lemon

  • Small bowl of milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Wash and prepare the berries.  If you’re using little ones like raspberries, just toss them into a large bowl.  If you’re using strawberries, chop them up into quarters so that all the berries in your pie are about the same size.

  3. Toss the berries in a large bowl with the flour and sugar and the zest from a lemon.  Stir until there’s no more powdery spots - the juice from the berries should make a yummy paste with the sugar and flour.

  4. Roll out the dough and put one of the rounds in the base of your pie pan.  Fill the pan with the berry mixture.  Use the second roll of pie dough to cover the pie however you like it!  I usually do a lattice pattern.

  5. Brush the top of the pie with milk, then bake for 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
