What the hell is a fuzzy egg?

It’s the thing you were looking for but never really knew you needed… and maybe you still don’t know what it is or why you have it, but you love it anyway.

When I was a kid, my mom would go out of town on business trips pretty often – she’s a badass scientist who works on drugs that cure cancer. Cool, huh? Anyway, before she left she would always ask me what I wanted her to bring back, as a souvenir. Now that I’m a grown up and go on business trips myself, I realize that this was incredibly sweet and not at all necessary. Maybe I’ll get it if I ever have kids of my own, but at the moment just getting myself together to go on the trip and get home in one piece is enough to manage!

So, being the entitled little child I was, I would always ask for something REALLY odd. Not to mention, not at all related to the place she was going. For example, “a duck puzzle” – wha? And one time, “a fuzzy egg” – again, head scratch… amazingly, she always managed to find something that resembled whatever hair-brained request I came up for, and I will always love her for that!

Years passed and I found myself picking up a whole slew of hobbies – from gardening and cooking, to DIY home renovation, organizing, you name it. I’m probably thinking up the newest obsession and frantically researching as you’re reading this right now! And in some small way, I think it all started with The Fuzzy Egg.
